Safety Advice

Collection of children from school

If you have arranged for your child to be collected from school by someone other than the usual parent/carer who collects each day, it is imperative that you inform your child’s class teacher at the start of the day. In the case of an emergency, please telephone the school office and we can inform your child’s teacher.

Bicycles and Scooters in the playground

It is wonderful that a number of children are taking the healthy option of traveling to school on their bicycles and scooters. However, for health and safety reasons, please could you ensure that your child dismounts at the school gate as the playground is so congested. All bicycles should be parked under the new shelter in the car park and scooters ´‘parked’ in the rack in the school car park. Please ensure that the basement doorway is kept clear at all times and that your child’s scooter/bike is not ‘parked’ across any school doorway or gate restricting access in and out of school.

Warm Weather

Please could we ask that all children, especially the younger year groups, have a sun hat and water bottle in school for the duration of the summer term. If you think your child may require sun cream for the day please could this be applied before they come to school.

Please can we remind all parents that dogs are not allowed in the school playground when dropping off and collecting your child. We would be really grateful if dog owners could tether their dogs to the railings at the bottom of the car park so that children are not frightened or tempted to pet them. If you leave school via the car park, please be aware that this is the area where dogs will be left and ensure that your child does not attempt to approach them.

All children may bring a healthy snack (no crisps, sweets, biscuits or chocolate please) to be eaten during morning break. Snacks should not be left in lunch boxes but should instead be taken into class in the morning. As we are part of the ‘Fruit and Veg’ scheme, all KS1 children are provided with a snack every day.  Parents can pay for their KS2 children to receive a snack at morning break.

Keep an eye on the top header of our web site. If the school is going to be closed due to the weather, a message will be displayed there.
